Rise of the Planet of Machines

Today, we were planned to present to a local business but was unable to. As a result, we continued to practice presenting and got critique from an audience. A lasting critique from Mrs. Popkowski was that we presented very mechanically and lacked a lot of emotion. The purpose of our presentations is to really sell the idea of microlending and to bring more advocates of KIVA and our delivery should convey our passion. Mr. Anderson's witty remark of machines slowly taking over our jobs, though humorous, lasted with me and reminded me that the script is just there to guide me when I get lost and my primary objective should be to speak in my own voice. As a member of the team, I think I can improve by proposing better ways of communication, especially when we are presenting. We are often times not fully confident and unsure of how to act in certain situations. For example, after our presentation, we provide time for questions and no one was really sure what to do. If we plan ahead and are more meticulous about covering our weak points, I believe we can be a lot more effective.
